Ye Ara criticized for her poor debut on “Music Core”

Rookie soloist Ye Ara finally made her debut this week on MBC’s “Show! Music Core,” but unfortunately, she failed to live up to her hype.

She performed her debut track “Americano” in a form-fitting outfit that managed to draw attention, which was quickly lost when she began to sing. Viewers were disappointed with the auto-tune that cluttered up her vocals.

Many flocked to the show’s message board and left harsh comments critiquing her performance, “It was unsettling to hear, there was a lot of auto-tune,” “If she’s a singer, she should be singing. Why did she only dance..,” “She sings like she’s reading from a book,“and “Please let us listen to you without the autotune.”

On February 27th, representatives of Ye Ara’s agency answered the concerns through MyDaily and stated, “It was her first public broadcast stage so she was very nervous and made a lot of mistakes. She was extremely upset after the broadcast, and felt like she wasn’t able to show her all despite how much she’s invested in rehearsals.”

Perhaps she’ll have a better performance on tonight’s “Inkigayo“.
